Privacy Policy

Your documents never leave your phone. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ads — this policy is short because there isn't much to tell.

The short version

What we collect

Nothing. Renewal Tracker doesn't ask you to create an account, doesn't run analytics, and has no server that stores anything about you. Every item, profile, reminder, photo and note you add is written to a database on your own device and stays there.

On your device

How your data is stored

Item details (titles, dates, costs, notes) live in a local database. Document photos are encrypted with AES-256 before they touch disk, using a key generated on first launch and held in your device's own secure hardware storage (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain) — a key we never see and can't extract.

If you turn on biometric app lock, the fingerprint or face check itself is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We only ever receive a yes/no answer — no biometric data is stored, seen, or transmitted by this app at any point.

Camera

Photographing a document to attach it, and reading dates off a passport or certificate. Photos stay on-device.

Photo library

Choosing an existing photo of a document to attach, instead of retaking it.

Notifications

Reminding you before something expires. Requested only after you save your first item, never at launch.

Biometric lock

Optional. Unlocks the app with your fingerprint or face — the OS handles this; we never receive the biometric data itself.

The two exceptions

What does reach a network

Two things, and neither carries anything personal:

Category checklists. Renewal Tracker checks, at most once a week, whether an updated list of category templates and renewal checklists is available. This request contains no device ID, account, or personal data — it's an anonymous check for a version number.
Purchases. The one-time unlock is processed directly by Google Play — no third-party billing service sits in between. Google receives the transaction data any purchase requires (a purchase token and product ID) to confirm you own the unlock; we never see your payment details. See Google Play's privacy policy for how they handle that.

Your export

Backups

If you export a backup, it's written as a single encrypted file to your device's storage. Where that file goes afterwards — kept locally, moved to a drive, shared to your own cloud storage — is entirely your choice. We never receive a copy.

Housekeeping

Retention, children, and changes

Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored, permanently. Because we never receive your data in the first place, there is nothing on our end to separately delete.

Renewal Tracker isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it. We'll never use a change to start collecting more than what's described here without making that obvious.
